I need to glam up my look, methinks, and mascara would help. The problem is, I am hapless with mascara. On me, it clumps, it flakes, it leaves raccoon ringlets under my eyes. (Those of you who have seen me react to shiny things know that I am in fact part raccoon, but that's not the point.) So recommend me a good, cheap, can't-screw-it-up mascara. And while you're at it:

Date: 2003-06-10 01:23 pm (UTC)Tip: Put foundation under your eyes and then you'll have less "raccoon" rings. Also try not to rub your eyes during the day!
if all else fails, clear mascara works to accentuate but won't leave marks.
As for the hair: HIGHLIGHTS AND LAYERS! I wish you lived closer so I could take you to my best friend. She's a hair stylist and the only person in the world I trust with my hair!

Date: 2003-06-10 01:29 pm (UTC)I used to use clear mascara and an eyelash curler, before I found the Avon stuff.
I loooove
Date: 2003-06-10 01:32 pm (UTC)I swear I am not saying this because I sell it, either. I really do like the mascara very much.
As for the hair, I went short and am letting my hair grow long so I tend to lean that way in advice right now but . . . I also color my hair and color can be fun.

I use Lancome myself but I am a total makeup whore.

Date: 2003-06-10 07:24 pm (UTC)Never pull the wand in and out, simply pull the wand out then press a lintless cloth (good TP works) against it to get rid of the excess (you have to throw away mascara every 3 months anyway, don't worry about wasting it). Slowly and firmly comb eyelashs *ONCE* with wand. wait 3-5 seconds for it to dry. apply again and wait between applications until you have coated all lashes, combing always away from the eye and outwards. Never apply more than 4 coats. use eyelash/eyebrow comb to carefully remove any clumps if there are any. curl with eyelash curler.

Date: 2003-06-11 01:08 am (UTC)Or, do what I did this time, and get your hairdresser to dye your lashes for you - saves putting on mascara every morning!
