Mascara

I need to glam up my look, methinks, and mascara would help. The problem is, I am hapless with mascara. On me, it clumps, it flakes, it leaves raccoon ringlets under my eyes. (Those of you who have seen me react to shiny things know that I am in fact part raccoon, but that's not the point.) So recommend me a good, cheap, can't-screw-it-up mascara. And while you're at it:

I would not hack and slash it. Only hack and slash when you're feeling settled, never do it when you're emotional, because that's when people regret new, impulsive hairdos. Do something more subtle, but fun. Playing with highlights and layers like someone else suggested sounds good.

This is a very good point. However, my own hack-and-slash was a necessary step after a very unfortunate hair product mishap (let's just say you shouldn't use a straightener on permed and lightened hair). But now that I'm short, I keep cutting shorter, and I like it more every time.

But definitely, don't jump into a hack in times of turmoil.
