mfree speaks wisely. Have you looked into Starbucks or other such jobs? Theoretically "crap" jobs sometimes pay more than decently enough, and might have fringe benefits (like free coffee).
yendi speaks wisely, too. income is income, no matter what the job. it's all about being able to keep body and soul together while you pursue what you really wanna do with your life, or trying to discover what that would be...
and there are "crap" jobs to be had -- especially now and coming up, as kids go back to school!
Once you have a job (which will be soon) you might want to find another roommate just to ease the financial burden... but since you'll be pulling in some money, you can be choosy and get an excellent roommate this time :)
Starbucks specifically is a good place to look, they give *much* more generous benefits that other food/retail jobs. They're really generous about health insurance and stuff like that. Go look.
