Last night I saw another of those damnable ads for that steaming pile of shit that is being advertised under the name "Catwoman." Since Halle Berry in S&M gear and Benjamin Bratt wondering if Law and Order might rehire him obviously has nothing to do with the Catwoman we all know and love, I thought we should take matters into our own hands.

You should probably stay away from the upcoming Constantine film as well.

'Cause you already knew about it and I brought it up.

But, like you said, no worries. >v¯v

I really didn't think anyone could do a worst catwoman than what Michelle Pfeiffer did in Batman Returns. Just seeing the previews of Halle's film showed me how wrong I could be. I'm so hoping this films bombs. Ever since the Academy gave her the Oscar based on her skin color rather than her acting ability. Her ego has been out of check. I'm just glad she will not be back for X3. Maybe we can get a good actress to play a proper Storm.

Yeah, she was horrible as Storm! And I hate that because she's a big star, her face was so prominent on all the X-Men posters when she didn't have a huge role in either movie!

Let's just pray that she doesn't get it in her head to play Wonder Woman next! ::knocks on wood::

No, Halle will be ruining one of our blaxploitation heroes next - she'll be playing Foxy Brown in a future movie.

God, I hate that bitch.

I always said, Tina Turner would be perfect as Storm (remember Aunty Entity from Mad Max?), and if they couldn't get her, Angela Basset would be almost, if not just as perfect...because she played Tina Turner in the movie about her life.

Halle Berry just looked like a Black Barbie. :/

What bothered me most about Storm is the fact that her accent was inconsistent in XMEN and NONexistent in X2.

...and the wig.

::shudder::

All anti-Halle sentiments aside...

...I've pretty much given up on Follywood when it comes to comic book movies. The only way I could even bring myself to consider seeing this one, is if it's as campy as the old '60s Batman.

And, unless I just haven't been paying attention, I think I've yet to see a commercial for Catwoman where you actually hear her say anything. Like…at all. I mean, usually you'll hear from a movie's main character in the commercials…right?

I'm pretty sure I'll end up seeing it one day - I never would've seen X-Men if my friend (whose bigger into comics than I am) made me watch it. Of course, I didn't think X-Men was all that great, either. :/

From what I understand, the trailers were redone to take out what FUX considered the "weaker parts" of the movie. Yeah, like DIALOGUE and PLOT.

Here is another question. Who do you think would have been the best actress to play catwoman?

Date: 2004-07-12 09:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sujata.livejournal.com
The best actresses for the role are, in Follywood's opinion, too old:

Anjelica Huston

Susan Sarandon

Kathleen Turner

Damn...there's one other I'm thinking of, I can see her face in my mind but can't remember her name at the moment. :-(

That said, however, I have very fond memories of how delightfully twisted Winona Ryder was in Beetlejuice, not to mention how absolutely perfect Christina Ricci was as Wednesday Addams. I'd definitely give either of them a chance as Catwoman (who is one of my all-time faves!!), and they're both young enough still.

Really, I can't imagine what the hell Hollywood was thinking. And I'm not just talking about casting Halle Berry in the role, either. I mean, in the comic books Catwoman could do anything humans could do and anything cats could do. But the previews of this abyssmal movie show Catwoman executing moves that look like they belong in a Matrix flick. *rolls her eyes, disgusted*
