For my own curiosity, I just took the Match.com "What do you find attractive?" test and boy, was that a waste of time.

The test informed me that I'm very picky and only like matinee-idol looks. Well, did it occur to you that maybe you should have included more diverse pictures? I didn't see many pictures of the geeky boys I always crush on, and in fact, when in the results it showed two pictures and labeled them "most conventionally attractive guy you picked" and "least conventionally attractive guy you picked," I found the "least" far more attractive in all cases.

I'm just pissed because I feel like the test gave me shallow options and then bitched at me for giving shallow answers. I know it was pretty accurate for some of you, but just about the only thing it got right for me was that I like angular features.

Of course, now I'm stuck with the uncomfortable feeling that maybe I really am shallow...

Yeah. There were maybe a few options that were... vaguely attractive.

And no guys who were youngish and bald with facial hair. It was one or the other! I'm sorry, hey, I've been developing a few types here -- and you buttcheeses at Match.com do not recognize them!

Okay. Maybe DarkInclinationMatch.com would be better. I mean, not anything about piercings, tattoos, whether they look good in makeup... What gives?!?

As I so often say to my friends, hey, men are shallow. We're allowed to be shallow too! Dammit!

you know suicidegirls.com, with all the sexy hot naked counterculture punky/alternachicks? mmmm... well what they need now is suicideboys. so much of the suicidegirls' sex appeal is their witty, geeky, irreverent familiarity... they look like girls you went to school with. you just don't meet people like that unless you go to clubs or work on a college campus... *ponders*

And with Barbie and Ken all splitsville, being shallow isn't safe, either.

I agree. The results were not very diverse, and then some of it didn't make sense. Like how it told me that I'm the pickiest of the picky, and then I prefer women who have a little extra weight. If I was so picky? Wouldn't I like only super models?
I felt that it nailed me on a lot of things, like how I prefer dark hair/the weight/dark eyes/asian. But others made me feel as if I'm too damn shallow. Which I really don't believe I am. Most of the girls I've really liked before have met some rough comments from my friends. I think I'm pretty diverse.
I completely agree with your feelings on the test.

For a while, I had a certain geek shallowness. Only looked at guys that had something geeky going on. Figured those were the only smart people, the only ones I could hold a decent conversation with, so on, and so forth. Although I was physically attracted to various types, the mental attraction was the major pull. Do you think you could be doing something similar? If so, I can't say its a bad thing. I mean, you have to have compatability, and you are a smart woman.

I hear you. It told me I was mad into asians, and I was like...um.. not really. it's just that they didn't have a single middle easterner, so I suppose that's the closest they could get. they also didn't have much in the way of italians or jews- (i.e. BIG NOSES).

Apparently, I like "quirky" men, and share my predilections with 4 percent of all women. i think "quirky" means "not white, black, or asian."
