This is a topic that comes up so frequently on my friends list that I just want to state my position on it here.

At some point practically everyone on LiveJournal wonders aloud why their deepest, most personal posts get almost no comments while everyone has something to say on their silliest, most vapid posts.

I'm here to tell you that it's not just you, it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you, and it doesn't mean people don't care. It means we don't know what to say. I mean, do you really want me to make some stupid, vapid comment on a post that clearly means a lot to you?

Sometimes it's hard to know what to say on the important stuff. But everyone's got an opinion on silly stuff. It's a lot easier to discuss your favorite Survivor than deep, life-and-death type issues for most people.

Just a thought.

heh, yeah.... i think it was a missable kind of post maybe, in part, because of the style? it's pretty bad in terms of rambliness and stream-of-consciousness... ness... and like i said, it's not my best or deepest work so i didn't expect a LOT of comments, but yeah, a nod from my closer friends would have been nice.
