It's the whole bad-boy thing, for one. Power and evil can be surprisingly sexy.

And another reason, at least for me, is the whole emotionless, tightly-controlled thing. I see a man that straightlaced, all about "I'm a machine and I don't feel mere human emotions," and it makes me want to peel that back and find out what's underneath, and make it scream.

But that's just me. :)

Yeah. Power. And he wants to *hurt* things with that power, where Elrond is controlled in the "I know I'm stronger than you, but I'm also a better man than you, so I won't tell you what I think of you," whereas Smith makes no bones about his opinions...

Ooooh, that's another good point. That's probably another good reason I find Agent Smith attractive, because I'm all about the "I'll tell you exactly what I think of you." :)

By that description, Elrond's the one I'd want... yet Agent Smith is my lust object. I guess it really is all in the attitude.

Yeah, but I see Elrond doing the "I'm a better being than you are because I am all-knowledgeable and long-lived, and I don't give a shit about you or your problems, because I'm going to outlive them, and by the way, my daughter thinks you're a nasty scum but she's too well-bred to say so, and I'm doing you a favor by telling you so" thing, and I get peeved with him.
