After spending far too long analyzing it in the bathroom mirror, I can announce with confidence that my hair is purple. Really and truly purple.

How the hell am I getting away with this at my job?

exactly! you work at a fucking university... why should they care? at the worst, the patrons will just think you're a student employee. :)

i used to worry too... i worked at barnes n' noble, for awhile, and i was all nervous about my hair at the interview, but one manager didn't notice, and the other complimented me, saying she missed her purple hair, back in the day. it gives people stuff to talk about... which, if you keep it long enough, you'll get mighty sick of.
