Just tell them you're trying out the new voice interface.
If you want to be really snarky to them (and have a later version of Windoze installed), use the Narrator to have it respond to you (Start->Accessories->Accessibility->Narrator)
I talk to my computer all the time. We have arguments about whether the hardware is configured properly. It says no and I say yes, fuck you, I put you together correctly, so work dammit. And it beeps. A lot.
