Why I hate Britney Spears so damn much:

That little tramp makes her money off the sexualization of children. She is making Lolita an acceptable fantasy, not the sick pedophilia that it is. She does this to compensate for her utter lack of talent. In the meantime, she practices all sorts of hypocrisy, primly claiming she'll wait till she's married to have sex while bragging to Cosmopolitan about the time Justin put rose petals on their bed. And she smokes -- a singer who smokes. How stupid can you get?

I have a feeling that she is contributing to a rise in the sexual abuse of children.

If she had some talent (like say, Christina Aguilera, who I'm not a huge fan of but is talented), I might actually have a smidgen of respect for her.

(What were they thinking??!?! It's not the thong part that bothers me as much as the fact that these panties said things like "wink wink" and "eye candy" on them. If you put those same phrases on full-coverage childrens underwear, I'd still be angry. And if someone came out with childrens-size thongs in plain utilitarian white/pink/powder blue three-packs like normal girls underwear comes in, I'd be less likely to jump on it as sexualization of children.

Thongs for grown-ups=comfortable!

(Look at it this way: Normal underwear moves around, and when it gets into a wedgie, there's a fair amount of fabric there, and it's uncomfortable. With a good thong, there's only a tiny bit of fabric between your cheeks and it stays put. Where you put it in the morning is where it stays all day long.)

Despite her frequent claims to the contrary, I think it's extraordinarily unlikely that Britney's still a virgin.

Her ex Justin Timberlake was heard on a crowded flight (when they were still together) talking about her and how she is definitely NOT a virgin. Taking into account the fact that guys brag all the time, I'm still more inclined to believe him.

Virgin or whore? My money's on the latter.

U'mm I'm not so sure she sings. Look at a pepsi comercial, dancing around like that most people can barly keep their breath much less belt out a song. I think she sings in a studio, it gets a lot of polish and then she lip syncs to the recording.

And that reminds me of something else -- think about all the ugly male rock stars out there. They're everywhere. Now can you name one female rock star (besides Janis Joplin) who isn't drop-dead gorgeous? A woman may well have the talent, but she can't suceed if she doesn't have the looks. And the music industry (and the entertainment industry in general) will promote a beautiful but talentless woman over a not-so-pretty, but wildly talented woman any time.

I do think she _uses_ the little girl image (ref: baby one more time video, anyone?) but you can't call her a true Lolita -- she's been legal and she was legal in most states when she started singing.
