I know I've said that before, but I think I might mean it this time. I've gotten kinda tired of not knowing what's going on with my friends. I don't imagine I'll be posting much (posting energies go into my yarn blog and Ravelry), and I may end up trimming my reading list, but I'm going to try to keep up with what's going on. I'm seeing that I've missed rehabs and babies and whatnot, so if there's anything from the past two months you need me to know about, drop me a note.

Me? Nothing much going on. James is good. Kitties are fat and spoiled and like to sleep on me (Katie tried to sleep on my head last night). I learned to knit. I learned to knit less than two months ago and last night I started knitting my first sock. Sorry, had to brag. I gave up buying yarn for Lent (the first time I'd ever observed Lent in any way) and have now been on a yarn-buying binge since Easter.

I'm happy. I hope you are happy too.

*waves* Hi there!

Missed you!

We lost a kitty while you were gone. Our Sabine passed on last week due to kidney failure. It was very sad.

I am fairly happy, and now have a full inch of sock ribbing. And now have twice as many projects as I did before I started knitting. Obviously, the crochet and the knitting are breeding together!

I've been shocked by how much I enjoy the knitting!

Dealt with crazy, got a new job, quit my old job, and today I've started adding things to my Ravelry acct.

How do you work this goddamn thing?

Glad to have you back, even on a random basis.

I'll try and give you a rundown at MF. In the meantime, definitely check out the amigurumi groups, the toy groups, the designer groups. Some are more active than others. And you know you can sell patterns on Ravelry now, right?

Don't know when I'll be at MF again; wasn't planning to go this week and my schedule isn't yet finalized at the new job enough to plan after that.

Can you shoot me an email about all that stuff? And no, I didn't know I could sell patterns there... *goes to look*

Okay, let's do it this way. Write me a few good emails about what communities I should look into and what other things I should know about Ravelry. Let me pick your brain for a bit. And you can pick out a couple of patterns from my etsy acct and I'll email them back to you.

Your position is called "consultant". :)

Is good to have you back. ^..^

This may sound like a dumb question, but I hadn't thought to ask before... what's the difference between crocheting and knitting?

Date: 2008-04-02 08:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com
Crochet: One hook
Knitting: Two sticks

There's more to it than that, of course, but I'll bore you with it another time :)

Hey there, babe.

Ive got cover art for my book (see icon). Still waiting for it to officially come out. Other than that--not much going on. I've kept my work whining and my "boy-type is out at sea" whining to a minimum. ;)

You know, maybe it's just me since I didn't grow up Catholic or anything, but doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose if you give up something for Lent only to go apeshit about it after Lent is over? :)

*coughtraitorcough*...I mean, I'm glad you're enjoying knitting. However, crochet socks are the way to go. Fast, comfy, and oh so cool. :)

"I've loved all I've needed love. Sordid details following."

Only not really, because my life is quite dull. It's all about the Torchwood addiction and the students acting crazy.

Heh, I started a sock sometime in this past month, but I finally got over an inch of it done last night, past ribbing. :P

Yay on contentment. :)

I finally got my dream position at work. Other than an unfortunate misunderstanding (I am Suzie Sunshine, yes, but only when I'm in a good mood) things are going very, very well.

Welcome back/back? .

Glad to hear you're doing good :D

I've had lots to do which in my line of work is good. No rehabs, significant craziness or major drama has thrown itself my way, so that's also good.

All things considered - we mostly rule, I think.

All is well here.

Actually, I was just having a smoke and sitting here watching West Wing and feeling quite zen and blissful. In the midst of that I had to laugh at what I dork I am for loving being stoned while watching West Wing, and for some reason I thought of you.

:D
