Listen up, kids. I'm going to tell you why procrastinating doesn't pay.

I'm putting together a fairy costume for Dragon*Con, and so far my attempts to find light blue stockings have gone absolutely nowhere. Google to the rescue! I found the perfect finishing touches at We Love Colors and could have ordered them yesterday, except the nice people at We Love Colors are located in Miami and were closing early. Because hello, hurricane coming.

So, cost breakdown:

Baby blue fishnet thigh-highs and lace hotpants: $20
Overnight shipping to make sure they get here before I leave for con: $21.01

Yes. The shipping cost more than the lacy stuff. DON'T PROCRASTINATE, KIDS!!

Of course, as arkhamrefugee pointed out:

They had to overnight me a pair of stockings for last Chattacon...those poor people and the demands we make on them and their 45 colors of fishnets. :)

I had a HUGE ISSUE with We Love Colors. There was a hurricane. My stuff didn't ship. I e-mailed and was like, "Hey, I know, hurricane, but can I have the status on this?" And they were like, "Uhh, the hurricane did not affect our business." I never got the tights and had to fight with them to re-ship. When they finally did, they shipped the wrong color.

Many tights will hold dye well. I wound up dyeing tights, leotard, and gloves for the costume (it was Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas).

Oh, and I forgot to mention that cindygerb has a bodysuit that is black with splotches of color. She goes dancing in just that and has been told that it looks likes she just has paint splashed on her.
