Great Moments in Gaming (or at least, Very Funny Moments in Gaming)

The moment this weekend in streamweaver's Eberron campaign that nearly made me fall out of my chair:

Martin the Irritable Ranger has gotten into a shootout with four kobolds disguised as halflings. Some of the arrows have gone astray into a crowd.

Town Watch: Hey, who's firing arrows into the crowd?... HEY!! You can't bring kobolds in here!
Martin the Irritable Ranger: I DIDN'T BRING THE GODDAMN KOBOLDS!!

Followed by jokes about kobold leash-laws.

In the meantime, as the other characters were getting possessed and finding out Deep Dark Secrets, my character, Nora the Insane Halfling Bard, was having a great time hanging out with the circus and dancing, getting drunk, and making out with strapping halfling lads. It's good to be Nora.

It was a HUGELY enjoyable session. I think we've got a good bunch for role-playing and an interesting set of characters too. I loved the whole circus theme. Looking forward to getting back to it next week! We still don't know what's up with those four creepy humans, not to mention Felix is possessed!

I've told you about the kobold pit detector, haven't I?

Take a recently captured kobold. Bind his arms to his sides and wrap about 4' of rope around his waist. Tie securely. Take on spear. Walk behind the kobold and use the spear to keep him moving. If there are any pits, he'll fall in first. Pull on the rope to haul him back out, and keep going. ;)

That's awesome. RP games are so fun! As opposed to the boring number-worshipping of hack & slash. Ugh. I've never played Eberron... how does it stack up to the earlier settings? I'm kinda leery of something that cuts out so much magic, or seems to. Spells are fun, too, after all. hehe
