This is why friends don't let friends spoil Harry Potter. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet and [livejournal.com profile] ariedana!)

A friend of mine said her librarian friend's library already got two copies of Harry Potter yesterday. Hmmm...I wonder if librarians with Potter access around the world are avidly reading right now...

Oh please. Are they seriously going to arrest librarians for "peeking"?

Well, they're not going to *arrest* anyone for peeking, but libraries can be fined, just as bookstores can, yeah.

First, you must prove they peeked.

Oh, when I worked at bookstores, I peeked all the time, esp. at Harry Potter 5 -- doesn't mean the publisher's restrictions aren't technically there! ;)

Er... hypothetically... if there are any publishers reading...

Oh, the restriction is there, it just lacks teeth for those who discreetly violate it. :-)
