kellinator: (Frank and Tim by logand)

Hey [livejournal.com profile] estimatdprophet, you said to give you a heads-up when the new Gotham Central story arc started up, and here it is. Well, actually I phone-posted it last night, but no one was bored enough to transcribe it, so here you go. And boy howdy is it starting with a bang (literally and figuratively) -- shades of not one but two of the all-time great Homicide storylines.

Two words: clean shoot.

Crispus Allen and Renee Montoya are what Pembleton and Bayliss would have been if Frank weren't a dick and Tim weren't a wuss. *warm fuzzies for the partner love*

Or possibly what Beau and Kay would have been if Beau weren't a total fuckup.

Okay, for my own idle curiosity, how many of you have I gotten hooked on Homicide and/or Gotham Central? Inquiring minds want to know.

EDIT: If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, check this entry:

I heart partner love. It's why I like Rescue Me, too. That whole squad thing rules.
Have not had a chance to get the comic though. Very little extra $.

Hoo-boy.

I've become heartily addicted to Homicide, thanks to your posts and my Mom's impeccable television programming taste. I have yet to find a reasonably near-by comic book store, so I am denied Gotham Central. And the end of Transmetropolitan, which should tell you how long I have been with out comics.

Mmm, if I still read comics, I'd've checked out Gotham Central on your recommendation by now. But, alas, I do not.

Homicide I tried a few times when it was on, but never got into it (didn't even like the L&O crossovers). Don't know why -- I didn't think it was BAD, it just never "clicked" with me.

I DID try The Jury because of you (but, of course, it got cancelled very quickly).

I read all issues of Gotham Central up to Issues 13 I believe, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] groove_haircut. While the books were entertaining, I found myself just groaning with the CSI type references made through some of the issues and I am afraid that just turne dme off. Now don't get me wrong, I love CSI (Vegas only so far, though I am willing to give NY a shot), I just see everything jumping on the crime investigation band wagon and unfortunately that is a turn-off for me.

I guess I just prefer reading about the heroes, not the regular folks. I can watch shows about the regular folk.

Well, you got me hooked on GC.
I agree with what you said, but what the fuck was that stuff with Corrigan{sp?}
BTW wasn’t there a DC superhero who's secret identity was cop named John Corrigan?
