There's a guy in the library that looks like he's off the cover of a romance novel.

Now, don't misunderstand me. This isn't a oh-my-gods-lookit-the-eye-candy post like that time I sat next to a guy who looked like John Cusack on the bus. I said a romance novel. A mid-eighties romance novel of the type my old co-worker Heather referred to as "heaving bosums." He has the first couple of buttons of his shirt undone, his hair is lusher and more luxurious than mine could ever hope to be (ladies, do any of you go for guys who have better hair than you do?), kinda like Marcus Cole minus all the intangibles that make Marcus Cole so damn hot, and he's got that Fabio look on his face. You know the one, I know you've seen the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter commercials. The smug, self-satisfied look that fairly screams "I'm so hot, I'd make out with myself."

I smiled at him, and now I feel vaguely slimy.

Oh, that was me -- just dropping something off at your Ref. desk. ;)

I can safely that for me, no, I do not like guys with better hair than me. I find it annoying.

*sigh* He looked like John Cusack? I would have smiled, too. Then tore my clothes off and offered myself to him.

No, that was a guy about a year ago. I drooled all over my keyboard when I posted that day...

Fabio pre- or post- Bird-in-the-Face incident?

Bodice rippers - haven't read one of those in a long time... *sigh*

Yes! Busch Gardens gets a high-five from me for that one. :-) I went several years ago with my wife and my GF, who both rode that particular ride (as well as most of the others in the park) while I stood by in admiration. The Fabio-goose-incident ride was one of the better ones, they said.

I find the muscly, lush hair, stupid face, look so revolting that I have a hard time talking about it...

You know, when I filled out the cover art request for "Nocturnal Urges" I specifically asked that they NOT make him a romance-novel type, but more normal. With short hair, an ordinary white shirt, etc. Except, of course, he was a vampire. So they chickened out and barely showed him at all. :)

If I had a dating rule about only being able to date guys with worse hair than mine, I would never be able to go out again: I touched up the roots with something that (unfortunately) looks orange in the sunlight and pink under indoor lighting. ::sigh:: My hair sucks.
