See, I can't help but think that I must have filled it out wrong.

As everyone who knows me knows, I'm blazingly insecure. Growing up I was never one of the accepted kids, the popular kids, and it's stayed with me. I'm frequently convinced that people can't stand me and are just tolerating me till I go away, even in the face of evidence to the contrary.

It's weird to me to think that I could be any sort of hub, even though I've helped plan events and introduced people and stuff. In fact, sometimes the people I introduce like each other better than they like me and I feel a little jealous.

I'd love to be able to think of myself as a fun social person, but I just seem to have blocks against it. I assume I'm the outsider or the weirdo or I smell funny or something. Maybe this is all just a sneaky way of asking what you think of me? Am I as awkward as I think I am?

Um...have you looked at your Friends list lately? I just checked it, and you have 404 Friends listed on here. More importantly...you are a "Friend Of" 390 people. So...given the fact that you likely interact with maybe a fraction of those people...it is still an impressive number. If that isn't an indication of being a "hub", then I don't know what is.

Just because you are insecure, doesn't necessarily mean that you couldn't be a "hub" or "people person" at the same time. Example? Me.

I'm pretty insecure myself, albeit I probably couldn't compete with you on that I admit. Like you, I was never considered "popular" in grade school, high school, or even college. But nevertheless I managed to move through several circles with relative ease.

Granted, compared to lots of people on here, I barely know you...if at all. But I will tell you this: if I lived in your area, I'd probably make an effort to meet you in person and hang out. You seem like a very nice, warm-hearted, snarky :-D, sarcastic, wickedly funny person. Much like me :-).
