Based on a conversation with the incomparable vernard, I'd like to make a request...

When you see me being ridiculously self-deprecating, please call me on it. It's one of those things I've been doing for so long that I don't even really realize I'm doing it anymore.

Well, if you are going to be self-deprecating, do it for charity. Do a self-deprecathalon, and take pledges for how long you can do it. You can speed up the cure for some disease, or something.

But yeah, if you're not going to do it for a good cause, I'll call bullshit.
