I really, truly wish I had something deep to say today. I don't.

Instead, I'm giggling over this:

"Poop fiction" big hit with kids

I can't decide which is more amusing: the phenomenon itself or the fact that CNN is covering it. Slow news day much?

The thing is, much as we all try and deny it, poop jokes are funny. Try it. Go on and say "poop" in a high-pitched voice like you're Beavis and Butt-head. You'll start snickering or your money back. (I can promise this because I haven't actually taken anyone's money.)

It's true. Julian knows how to read, and how to scam me, because of Captain Underpants. Of course, the appreciation cycle apparently lasts just as long as the gap in their ages, so he'll grow out of it just as his sister gets into them, and I'll be rid of the darn things in about 2008.
