Be careful what you wish for.

This morning I checked the freezer even though I knew full well that I didn't have anything to take for lunch and discovered that I had a frozen dinner I'd completely forgotten about that would save me from having to buy an overpriced crappy sandwich for lunch. I was elated!

Then I started thinking about how sad it was that the highlight of the day was going to be finding this frozen dinner and I thought "man, I've gotten boring."

Then I thought about the last time I said that to myself after getting overly excited over something mundane. A few months ago I was picking up dinner from the Dekalb Farmer's Market and I got just insanely excited because they had both lentils and garbanzos on the hot bar, and then I said to myself "damn, this is pathetic, my life has gotten boring," and the very next morning a series of events that can only be described as interesing in the ancient-Chinese-curse sense of the word began.

So if anybody needs me, I'll be hiding under my desk.

I know that worry. Being dedicated to Eris has made me very careful what I wish for.

Still, being elated over life's little pleasures is a good thing. Saving elation for only the momentous times is a waste of good elation.
You're definitely not boring. I'm delighted to read your posts regularly.
