Oh no he didn't...
Jan. 28th, 2002 09:27 pm99X replaced Mandatory Metallica with this new thing where bands pick stuff they like for you to hear. It's supposed to introduce you to stuff you haven't heard before.
Tonight, for reasons I can't fathom, they invited that guy from Creed. And he starts talking about this band that had a song in the '80's that really influenced him...
It's U2, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
Does anyone else get the pretentiousness of this? It's like if I said to someone, "Hey, if you lke my poetry, you ought to check this old guy out. His name's William Shakespeare."
AAAAAAAAAUUUGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least I got to hear U2. Now if only they'd play U2 every time they're thinking about playing Creed...

Umm....
Date: 2002-01-29 10:45 pm (UTC)I respect U2 to a certain extent.... frankly, if I hear "I still haven't found..." one more time I swear I'm gonna scream... it's not my favorite U2 song anyway....
I think 99X is not all that but its just one more pit stop in the constant search (99X, Q100, Star94, 88.5, 89.3, 91.1) for something worth listening to on the radio. I don't have a CD player in my car so radio is all I get.... some of us aren't blessed that way you know so yall can stop with the snobby remarks.
