99X replaced Mandatory Metallica with this new thing where bands pick stuff they like for you to hear. It's supposed to introduce you to stuff you haven't heard before.

Tonight, for reasons I can't fathom, they invited that guy from Creed. And he starts talking about this band that had a song in the '80's that really influenced him...

It's U2, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

Does anyone else get the pretentiousness of this? It's like if I said to someone, "Hey, if you lke my poetry, you ought to check this old guy out. His name's William Shakespeare."

At least I got to hear U2. Now if only they'd play U2 every time they're thinking about playing Creed...

What do you expect from listening to 99x? Toucher's an ass and aside from the Steve and the retroplex and the occasionally funny bits on their morning show the whole station sucks.
