Seriously...how often does the general public believe someone who claims to be the Son of God - and when they do, how often are they branded as complete lunatics? Even if the second coming was expected, you can be sure that lots of people would be running around going "YAH-HAAHHHH!!! EETS-AH MEEEEE, JEEEEESUS!!!!!"
Not all of them would be doing a Mario impression, of course, but you get what I'm saying, right?
