being somewhere outside of both parties (and in a mood to pick on folks in general) I feel the need to point out that most republicans will say that it is a typically liberal tactic to cater to people's feelings in this way, therefore gaining a broader base of fans. And the average American joe's response to that was seen in the last election, regardless of how you or I may agree or disagree. It is this particular factor about liberal politics that many of your truck-driving, flag-wearing Bush sticker guys are against. They think liberals are pussies.
