wisdom-- surely. but, i for one have never been consistently/reliably able to trump desire with wisdom, pragmatism, cynicism, contentment, or anything else. seriously, even if you are wise enough not to waste time pursuing the unattainable, how do you keep from lusting after such things now and again? if we didn't dream beyond our means, would humans as a species ever have progressed as far as we have?
You're absolutely right. What I get out of this strip is more of just an "appreciating the simple pleasures" thing, which I know I sometimes forget to do...
