Interlibrary loan specialist injured, film at eleven

I just impaled my thumb on a staple. Ow ow ow ow ow.

It looked so weird in the middle of the ow to look at my thumb and there's just this staple sticking out of it. So I pulled it out (ow!) and then I had this little gushy geyser of blood on my thumb.

See, don't let anyone tell you librarians don't lead dangerous lives! Think I can get workers' comp for this?

To be succinct, I'm the only one around here you can get hurt at work. You are not allowed to get hurt at work. In fact, I'll extend this to everybody else. I know, who do I think I am? Well, it's perfectly normal for me to come home bloodied, cut, bruised or burned, but, and I'll repeat this, no one else is allowed to get hurt at work but me.

Keep it clean and it'll be fine in a couple of days. Puncture wounds bleed like a mofo, but you should be fine as long as it stays clean and covered until the wound scabs over.
