Drama du jour

This morning I was reading a book about the secrets of happy people, how they don't get bent out of shape over little stuff.

Then I lost a contact.

I now remember why I'm not a happy person. Just about any little thing that goes wrong (in my defense, this was a little more than usual; I'm now squinting out of a pair of mangled glasses that look worse than Harry Potter's pre-Hogwarts, and the Emory health care people just completely suck -- they know you have to come there, so why should they both making it pleasant for you? Fuck them, I'm going to LensCrafters) puts me into hysterics, makes me feel like I have no control over my life.

I'm a little calmer now. But now I'm upset with myself.

*whimpers* I don't wanna be a crazy person.

Well, the cats are my landlords'. Do they still count?

And anyway, I figure the best part of being a crazy old spinster is going to be the forty cats!! Here kitty kitty!!

I don't remember her having cats. I remember the wedding stuff all preserved and the constant wearing of her wedding dress, but no cats.

If Kelly is destined for spinsterhood, I see her surrounded by yowly cats who get fed steaks while she eats something less expensive, and lots of dusty tomes used in lieu of tables. and she'll wear a housecoat and showercap all the time and yell at those blasted kids when they dare each other to look in The Crazy CatLady's windows!

I think you're right, except for one thing: I love steak. The kitties cannot have my steak.

don't let them get a taste of it, then, because they will hound you to the grave if they do! (I made the mistake, early in my catownership, of leaving my plate on the table when I went to get a drink in the kitchen. I came back to far less steak and potatoes than what I had left, and now whenever I have steak she meows relentlessly until I share!)
