Stuff I don't really expect people to understand

I consider it one of my personal missions to stand up to people who pull inconsiderate shit like going through the express lane with obviously more than the alloted items, talking on a cell phone in theaters, etc. Or barring that, at least point out that they're assholes. My mom thinks I'm getting bitchy. metaphorge thinks I'm taking things too personally. Lots of people apparently think I'm the queen of whining. And to some degree, I guess they're all probably right. But I just think I'm doing my duty.

Oh, I understand it quite well. The way I put it is that I fight against stupidity wherever I go, even though I know I'm fighting a losing battle. I was at the grocery store three days ago, actually, when the bright boy in front of me in the checkout line had about thirty items in his shopping cart. (Clue: if you need a shopping CART, not a basket, you probably don't qualify for the express lane.) I inquired where he learned to count and he damn near took a swing at me. Gave me the evil eye as he left. Asshole.
