I just talked to Mom on the phone.

My little brother is proposing to his girlfriend tonight.

At first I was just plain happy. Then I started freaking. He's too young to get married! (He's 21, and they've been together for four years. The family likes her so much that Dad once informed him that if they ever broke up, we were keeping her, concluding with my dad's version of "You are the weakest link. Goodbye.") If my little brother's getting married, then I must be old!! And of course, if my younger brother is getting married, what's wrong with me and my love life?

If anyone needs me, I'll be freaking out.

I have a brother about to turn 21 and I definitely think I would freak if he was getting married.. Of course, *my* brother hasn't had any long-term relationships that I know of, so I don't see myself having to do that anytime soon. (*sigh of relief*)

Somehow it was different for me.. not sure why. Guess I see myself as more mature than both of my siblings. :)

Only difference in my case is that I was the first (and youngest, obviously ;) to get married... (and my sister is 3 years older than me and I still wonder if she'll ever be ready to have kids..)

HOly shit, I'd be freaking too. I know there are exceptions, but there's a reason they're called exceptions....21 is TOO YOUNG to get married! IMO, of course.

Well, I think they'll probably be okay (especially because they won't be getting married for another year at least), but AAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!! (running around the library freaking out)

Well, there's no exact age that is too young to get married, IMO.. my opinion is likely a bit biased since I got married at 18, but I really think it depends on maturity.. It's the people who date for a month and then announce they're getting married in two months that worry me.. ;)

Believe me, it could be worse. I'm old enough that I remember very well when my sister was born. This weekend I went to her daughter's 1st birthday party. I am waaaaaay old. :P

And Dawn got married at 18 and had Lauren at 19. She'll turn 21 soon and she does really, really well. :)

OMG! That is soooooooooo precious! How romantic and good your little brother is.
I would be way nervous and over-protective acting (my brothers are 18 and 20), but thrilled and excited at the same time.

But you know what... Frankie Says Relax!

Just celebrate with them, no need to worry. Though, I guess its kinda futile to say that since big sisters worry anyway.

*kiss*

I got married when I was 19 and a lot of people think that's too young. I think that it all depends on the person. But you shouldn't freak because he is getting married before you. It doesn't say anything about your maturity level. Marriage is serious and it's something you want to do when you feel ready to do it, whether you at 18 or 102. It's not a competition and it doesn't mean that he's better than you or anything like that. You're still fantastic. And the right person will come along for you also. ;)

Ha.

Mine got hitched at 18.

Before he even graduated high school. They took their honeymoon over spring break.

My brother is an idiot.

Did they spend the wedding night in the truckbed? You realize this sounds like a white-trash disaster, don't you?

It was! Naw, they got a hotel on Tybee Island.

But yeah, white trash disaster a go-go.

My brother was going to be married at 21, but that didn't freak me out too much- he's mature enough to handle it. What did freak me out was that she was 31!!!

And to top it off, she wanted kids straight away! Right now I could have been the aunty of a 3 year old. I'm very glad he broke it off with her before the wedding, 'cause he'd be miserable now. He's not mature enough for kids.

The boy I liked last year (? or 2 years ago? i don't remember lol) just got married and he's 20. I didn't think that was like him at all to do that, but I guess you never know. His wife was married before so now he has 2 stepsons. Yikes!!

And at work some people are trying to set me up with this man who has a teenage son because he's looking for a wife. Aaahhh. I think my boss said something to them tho, so I got out of that. Sheesh.
