Or is that the Goddess of Useless Knowledge?

If there's one thing that little insecure me is confident, dare I say cocky about, it's my trivia ability. Case in point: A while back, [livejournal.com profile] sirinek invited me to games night. We were trash-talking all week over IM each claiming we were going to kick the other's ass at Trivial Pursuit.

When the big night came, I kicked his ass and smacked it for good measure.

So I finally managed to make it to trivia with [livejournal.com profile] sirinek this week. I was so full of myself that I even promised a first-place win. And I delivered through my knowledge of geography, Marilyn Monroe's ex-husbands, and titles of the British nobility (gleaned mainly from romance novels).

I so enjoy being competitive.

(Have I mentioned that one of my life goals is to be a five-time champion on Jeopardy?)

Full contact Trivial Pursuit

Being the cultural literacy Nazi that I am- (ie "What do mean you don't know who Ayn Rand is!?" Thwap) I tend to get just alittle competitve at Trivia. Very few people have every beaten me and when they did I blame Sports.

So I was playing Trivial pursuit with four friends of mine who for sake of animinity we'll call, Robert, Ben, Phil, and Michelle. Everytime someone got a question wrong, one of the other players would thwack him or her on the head. Further complications arose when we decided to accept ANY answer on the back of card whether it went to that question or not. So "Japan" became an acceptable answer for "How many stars did the US Flag have on it in 1948?" In fact under these rules, "Japan" "One" "Zero" and "Jim Thorp" became a pretty good guess for any questions. Someone threatened the "Jizz on who ever came in second." and same said player took his belt to Phil- who seemed to fein enjoyment.

The game lasted till four in the morning largely because no one wanted to come in second.

The most disturbing thing about this affair was tha none of us were drinking.
