Hello I found your journal through a random search a few weeks ago, and I've been checking in periodically because I enjoy reading it. I had to give a yelp of recognition at this entry, my thyroid has been screwy for some time, though I've been putting off a trip to the endocrinologist. Lately I've been experiencing some of the symptoms you're talking about, weight-gain, extreme fatigue, and heavy depression. I was convinced I was simply going crazy, but too tired all the time to get around to doing anything about it. Anyway, it just made me feel better to hear sombody else with the same problem, and on the road to fixing it no less! Congrats. I hope to be doing the same soon.
