My great-grandaunt, Norma, the elder of the whole clan in North Dakota, is 92 years old. I call her "Norma the Elder" because her daughter-in-law is also named Norma. Norma the Elder is a small, sweet, soft-voiced, and very intelligent woman who you would imagine would enjoy sitting by the fire and drinking chamomile tea.
Instead, a few Thanksgivings ago, when we had all sat down at the large tables Norma the Younger and her husband, Jim, set out every year for the grand gathering of the clan, Norma the Elder piped up with the following joke:
"I heard they caught Osama Bin Laden! They dropped Viagra over Afghanistan, and the little prick stood up!"
