So what's your alignment, Kelly?

It would be interesting to read why each person thinks they are the the alignment they claim. So, [personal profile] kellinator, why do you think you are chaotic good?

Anyone know where the alignments are described on the Web? Must go look.

I'd like to think of myself as Chaotic Good. I'm not sure if I'm good enough to be Good, though. Anyone who has ever seen my apartment or office will definitely agree with the Chaotic.

Hee, hee, hee.

I'm mooooostly good, you see. I'm Chaotic Good With A Little Spice Of Evil Just Because I Say So.

And stuff.

Can we say "nice Malkavian" much?

It really does depend on my mood. I can be anywhere in the square of:

Chaotic Neutral: it just makes sense

I can understand all you Chaotic Good types. Chaos...just makes sense. And being good keeps the insurance rates down. Me, my aspirations aren't that high. I figure, as long as I'm only public enemy #12, no worries. Chaotic evil just attracts too much attention for my tastes.

But what is up with you lawfuls (rhymes with awful)? Lawful good is all, "sorry, can't go clubbing, I have to mow the lawn and polish my armor." Face it, people just take advantage of you, and you like it.

Deep down, the lawful evil are mama's boys that can't be properly evil unless all their pencils are sharpened to the same length. Lawful neutral, well, people hate you because you are just not interesting.

Neutral evil and neutral good. I can dig it. Some people are basically good, some evil. But don't want to commit to the wild abandon of chaos, nor do they want to be dull as hell.

True Neutral. Pulease. Make a decision already.

But, man, chaotic neutral. Oooo, boy. Gimme some of that action. Not to dark. Not to light. And never the same way twice.

I am Neutral Good with a slightly chaotic bias. Good because even my parents say I am too nice, and I'm far from lawful, but not chaotic either.

Oh, and thanks to a "friend"'s chaotic neutral level 77 drow, I am kinda allergic to Chaotic Neutrals. A little too random for me. (not to mention dangerous to be around)

Perhaps not so much commit as much as use law and chaos as tools to further good. Whatever good means.

Well, don't let your "friend" put you off CN's all together. We are not all alike. Why, in fact, none of us are alike. Oh, and personally, I'm not wild about being called "random", I prefer "entropic". Has a bit of class.

And dangerous? I am never...hey, what does this button do?

As far as I'm concerned, the only "tools" to be used are the lawfuls.

You wanna further good? Start by bringing me a beer. Making me happy. That is what good means.

OK, sometimes I slide a little down toward evil. I can deal with being public enemy #11.

Yah, I'd like to be Chaotic Good, but my aversion to breaking the rules and disobeying the law unfortunately drops me into the Lawful Good category. Either that or it's this %#$^ implanted morality chip doing it.

From: [identity profile] snowelf.livejournal.com
I'll have to remember that. I think I need to meet more CNs...maybe I will get over the fact that I wince every time I see the words Chaotic Neutral on anyone's character sheets.

*chuckles* Now, I could probably live with having YOU around.

I consider myself lawful evil because I am given a pretty strict set of guidelines that I have to follow. And I always make sure to have enough wiggle room in those guidelines to make sure that I have all the wickedness I want.

I guess that makes me "lawful wicked", really. Not quite as evil as LE, but much more fun in the sack. ;-)

From: [identity profile] straif.livejournal.com
Being lawful isn't about obeying the law of the land. It is about not being able to handle some disorder in your life. It is about creating silly little rules and laws for yourself. Lawfulness is a trap. It is a trap that people put themselves in--or allow society to put them in.

I'm averse to breaking rules and laws as well. There is often a good reason for them being there. And if there isn't a good reason, then the repercussions might not be worth it.

But, man, I'm not going to stifle myself by creating and following some silly rules that seemed like a good idea at the time.

In the end, the only law that counts is the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

Oh, is it particularly sad that I find myself role-playing my alignment in a discussion about alignments?

From: [identity profile] skellington.livejournal.com
Well, I put in "Neutral Good", but I'm somewhere between there and "Lawful Neutral". (Boring is right! [grin])

I do like the law, both from a government perspective and in my day-to-day life, but I think the law should be Neutral. It shouldn't try to promote Good, but it should protect people from other's Evil. So that makes me Lawful Neutral, at least politically and in terms of how I expect other people to act.

And while I like Order in my life, I am willing to break a few rules to promote the greater good. But only if there's a good reason to do so...

And I'm a basically nice guy, and a bit of a pushover, so I'm personally probably Good, even if I don't think The Man should be.

So put me on the dot right at the corner of True Neutral and Lawful Good. [grin]

SKG

P.S. And just because your house is a mess doesn't make you chaotic. I suspect Kelly is a woman of her word, and that's one of the many signs of being lawful. Or at least not chaotic...

Chaotic good, simply because EVERY SINGLE PERSON that I've ever asked has instantly identified me as such.

This amuses me to no end. :)

Hah! Now the husband, whom I've never asked disagrees. He says Lawful Neutral or maybe Neutral Good.

I shall have to ponder this now. ;) Maybe I'll make a poll in my own journal.

Yeah, chaotic neutral. Unpredictable, but not in all the fun ways chaotic evil people can be.

You know what else sucks? This dagger is plus 5 against baristas. I don't even go to starbucks anymore.

My husband teases me that I'm lawful good, and that he's chaotic neutral. I go out of my way to do things for other people, to contribute something positive to the world, and I do so while playing by the rules. I wait for the green light before I cross the street. I don't download music from online unless I can pay for it legitimately. I just feel as if rules exist for a reason ... they help to protect others and ourselves.

I will occasionally jaywalk when the situation makes it ridiculous not to do so, but it's a definite exception.

My husband, on the other hand, believes completely in individual rights. He was hard-core libertarian when I first met him, though he has shifted toward more socialist tendencies since meeting me. He doesn't feel personally obligated to obey laws or rules if his own common sense says they're unnecessary or unfair. And he does his own thing without trying to either help or harm anyone else.

Hmm. My impression of you wouldn't be chaotic good, if only because it is extremely important to you that *other* people follow the rules, at least when you're dealing with people at the library.

But perhaps there's a distinction between wanting other people to follow the rules, and wanting to follow the rules yourself. Or perhaps I don't understand the categories very well, because I've only played D&D about 3 times in my life. :)

I put myself in as chaotic good, but in truth, I suspect it's that I'd LIKE to be chaotic good, but I'm really neutral good or lawful good.

I want a wild streak, but was born to be mild.

Of course, I may actually be eeeeevil, and...nah. Don't think so.

Chaotic Neutral. I'm easily bored by routines and I dislike rules, but I don't see the need to go overboard with the evil. I like change and I'm uncomfortable when everything's orderly. Order is unnatural.

At heart I'm a scientist. I like to throw things together, see how things react. The bigger the explosion, the better. ;-)

(And perhaps I am a bit unstable. DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM?)

definitely Chaotic Neutral

I have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] niac ... the Lawful part was easy to peg (you definitely like order), but the rub was whether to make you "good" or "neutral".

I made you neutral. :p

Just because. Just because you never know what's coming next. Because I have a bad temper, and a sadistic, twisted funny bone. One minute it suits me to help you, and the next its easier to just kill you. Yep.

I am lawful neutral because I have a firm sense of right and wrong with respect to the Universe and I believe that rules of some sort be they ones that are created by man or ones that are inherent to the Universe are the best way to interact with each other. Weal or woe are just results of the laws that you make and how you interpret them.

Now, that being said, I am often seen as Chaotic Neutral by many folks. To them I say, I'm not chaotic, you just don't understand my laws.....

:-)
