what i mean is, sometimes words have less.... obvious origins. the word "sincere" for example, literally translates as "without wax." which is rad bc in the old days of marble statue-carving, if a sculptor fucked it up a little, he could cover his error with wax. thus, an honest statue, mistakes and all, is "without wax."
