actually, i'm really glad you said that. i've been kinda bummed that my gushy vegas post was passed over. i mean, it wasn't like, deep or whatever... but yeah, something really cool happened to me, and i wanted to share it.
but i *know* people are busy, and when i've had a chance to speak with or IM my friends, they are in fact excited for me... i guess just it took me by surprise, because everyone is so generously well-wishing when i have happy job news. but i think a lot of people are in shitty places romantically right now. in which case, i'm not gonna complain. ;)
also i think there's some kind of positive feedback thing... like, the more comments you have, the more you'll get. people who read the existing ones have more text to respond to, so maybe they're more likely to post a new one.
do you notice kind of an ebb and flow with your friends list too? there will be like hours of dry spell, then suddenly i can't keep up! weird.
