Like it's a question. I have to go anyway, since flaky roommate is kicking me out. But today I went to check out a basement apartment and I'm trying to decide if I should take it. The apartment is furnished, in the home of a couple who I'd guess are in their late 50s-early 60s.

Pluses:

+ they seem very nice
+ they have an adorable Jack Russell terrier and multiple cats which they will share with me
+ year lease
+ apparently the last kid to have the basement got along with them
+ they didn't object to several of my concerns (like occasionally having friends over)
+ they have cable
+ washer and dryer in my apartment
+ they offered to waive the credit check when I announced that "George W. Bush is an idiot"

Minuses:

- the cost: $695 a month (though, this is utilities included)
- the weirdness of sharing space, even though I have my own apartment. Do I really want to curtail my lively (ha ha) life by sharing space with an older couple?
- the fear of the unknown (they could be wackos!!)

I'm going to think it over. Any opinions?

Location?

One bedroom apartment? Location? You'd be paying almost what I pay and my rent doesn't include anything but water. Go for it!! Just make sure you have renter's insurance to cover your stuff and you should do fine.

When are you moving? Do you need help? I won't even charge you a free dinner this time. :)
