The tributes yesterday that got me the most were the simplest ones. A single white candle burning in Woodruff Library. The victims' names on the crawl on CNN.

Yet I did see one that I think was clearly over the top, and yet... It was a CNN story on a woman who had her baby days after her husband was killed in the WTC. At the end of the segment, the nearly 1-year-old girl was looking at a video of her father and saying "Dada."

I thought it was exploitative. And yet, I cried and I cried and I cried.

Don't feel bad... I still crawl into the fetal position and ball my eyes out if I hear those uber sappy movie romance songs, like the Bryan Adams one from Robinhood. Dear me... I just got misty thinking about it... So, my point, (I think I have one), exploitive, emotional 9/11 scenes should make us all cry; isn't that the idea? And, if most people don't cry, then at least you can rest assured that I am crying with ya...

Oh, and never play Young Turks by Rod Stewart while I am around, unless you want to see the waterworks explode... hahahaha..

Wow, from this reply.. I have come to the conclusion that I am a total dweeb.

Exploitation

i hate when the media does shit like that. ugh...i mean, i feel bad for the woman, but i refuse to take part in the fucking media circus. which is why i didn't watch tv, or listen to any of the radion broadcasts. maybe it's just be being crass, but i do my best to avoid buying into propaganda.
