sometimes, I get tired of everyone trying to tell me what to think.

And sometimes, I get tired of everyone thinking I'm a flake.

I mean, maybe they're right. Maybe I am a flake. But that's not exactly an unusual thing in this day and age. I don't even think I'm the biggest flake I know.

I think I might need to find a new place to hang out. Maybe being at Innovox so much isn't such a good thing for me. I seem to be getting stuck in other people's perceptions of me. Or my own perceptions of me.

I get so tired of not really fitting in anywhere I go. Jason once said I was Dorothy, looking for a place that felt like home... he was much more right than I realized at the time.

who thinks you're a flake?
i know flakes. can spot 'em at a hundred paces.
you, my dear, are no flake.
so who thinks you are a flake?
methinks you should reinstate the word "ass" as the term of the day, as i would say there be some in need of a good kicking....

Outside looking in

I, too, have felt like I'm on the outside looking in these days. This feeling has come up before and will come up again.

Relationships outside of Innovox get talked about a lot lately. Those are the parts you and I may not be part of, but that doesn't mean you aren't part of Innovox.

I think everyone there needs a subtle reminder, myself included, that we need to have conversations once inwhile that include all the participants. THOSE conversations are what makes me keep coming back over and over and over.

And remember, there's lots and lots and lots of new people that would love to talk with you. Give them a chance also.

when you try hard for people to accept you, it will almost always have the opposite effect. it's one of those basic laws of irony.
