Can you imagine what would happen if we all started answering the question "How are you?" honestly? My gosh, it would be the breakdown of Western civilization.

I mean, think about it:

Boss: How are you?
You: Miserable. I hate my job, and I hate you too.

Mother: How are you?
You: Fucked in the head, and it's all your fault!!

Doctor: How are you?
You: I feel like shit. Why else would I be here, you idiot? How did you get through med school, Einstein?

So now that I've given you all eeevil ideas:

Actually I do say that to my doctor ... "Well I'm here, so you do the math." But with a smile, he's a nice guy and a great doctor. (He has admitted he's trying to break himself of asking that question as he walks in the room too! hee!)

It might be a bit raw, but you _did_ ask.

It's okay. I'm sorry, dear. *hugs*

Not much can be done about it. Thank you for the hugs. The icon is very appropriate...

I usually try to tell people how I'm doing when they ask. For some reason, people expect thigns like that from me...

Generally, I try to answer the question honestly, but gently. Tends to make people assume that I'm a negative person, though.
