I need a +8 dex item just to keep me from accidentally killing myself

In the latest installment of "How the hell did you manage to do that, Kelly?!":

At work, I was sitting in my rolly chair and decided to pick up a couple of books lying on the floor. Somehow, I managed to lose my balance and, almost in slow-motion, the chair toppled over. I hit my butt and bent my neck on the way down, then sprawled on the floor for a moment reflecting on how lucky I felt to have not snapped my neck.

Oh, and this made a horrific crash that brought my boss running. The insult-to-injury part, as I had to attempt to explain what happened. Luckily, I think he's used to me tripping over my own feet by now.

I should have an awesome bruise on my ass. NO, I will not post pictures of it.

Oh, and I followed all this with the Great Printer Malfunction of Monday. Dammit, it's been Monday all daaaaaaaaaaay.

I've done that exact same fall. Reach for something on the floor. My butt goes one way, the chair goes another, and my legs are up in the air and my head is down on the ground, and then the rest of me follows.

Right there with you.

If you find that +dex item -- share?

I'm sorry you got your ass whupped by gravity, partner. I hope the bruising isn't too bad.

*applauds*

Where are the hidden cameras when you need them? ;)

Glad you didn't seriously hurt yourself tho. They should make armored clothing for people like us.

I've fallen like that before. I hate when gravity wins.

I once ran down my dorm room stairs so fast (in an effort to check scores on ESPN) that my torso got ahead of my feet thus sending me into a full somersault down an entire flight and landing me flat on my back. The stairs were made of concrete, and I was very lucky to get out with just some scrapes on my back. My friend came around the corner to see me lying on the ground and laughing hysterically at myself.

I am so sorry that you're hurt! I fell last year while trying to clean my shower, and on the way down thought "I will NOT die naked in my shower". While it hurt for about 2 weeks, it was kinda funny.

oh man, that sounds like it sucked. Glad you're not injured too badly though.

Ouch! My assistant did the same thing trying to change her shoes at work. I hear frustrated noises (because she can't reach her other shoes) and then a big WHUMP. I look over and she's sitting on the floor looking embarrassed. hehehe

Most of my falls tend to be of the "I cannot be arsed to stand anymore" variety. Usually if I'm laughing uncontrollably, I'll just flop onto the floor. That being of a more controlled descent, it does not usually lend itself to sustained damage, so I'm sorry for your bruised ass.

4 on a d20,Kelly fails to save against falling on her ass. Roll for damage!
