Fun with Gmail

The Gmail text ads that I get are a neverending source of amusement to me.

Example:

[livejournal.com profile] ariedana sends me an email including the line "he needs to learn that denial ain't a river in Egypt."

The ads:
Save on River Cruises!
Everything You Need to Know to Travel Egypt!

In this particular case, I vote that you forward those links to him. Because I think he could use a nice cruise to the other side of the earth, where he could have a nice break from all this god-forsaken horrific drama!

As a PSA, because I've done so and just in case you or anyone else I care about does so in the future:

For a start, bring a supply of drinking water. 'Cause honey, "Don't drink the water" ain't just a cliche...!

Oh, and also bring a generous supply of baksheesh (= gratuity money). You often need directions, advice, and insights from natives of the culture, and none of it is free. ;-)

The Gmail ads system really is a hoot, though. *snicker* You just gave me my second-best laugh of the morning!

*hugs*,
Molly

Heeheehee. That's great!

And so's your new icon!

My favorite ones are from the Vampire LARP. Most of the ads are for goth clubs and dating services.

hmmm.....

Once, I emailed pictures of a new black coat to a friend of mine.

When I looked at it in the "sent mail" folder, the text ads that came up were for bras and lingerie. When she opened it up, she saw ads for maternity wear. WTF.
