kellinator: (arrr!!)

Politics as usual

This rather fits what Michael Moore said in Fahrenheit 9/11 about the culture of fear, and distracts attention from Kerry and Edwards to boot:

Ridge says al Qaeda planning attack before elections

When combined with the link I posted last week on the possibility of cancelling elections, this scares me even more. The thing is, currently I'm less scared of terrorists than I am of my own government, with its 1984-style threats and attempts to quash all dissent...

I don't even know why I bother posting this stuff. You all can find it yourselves, and it's not like it's helping anything...

It would make perfect sense for Osama to attack pre-election. He's more than happy with Bush in the White House for a second term, since Bush's antics are a wonderful recruiting campaign for Al-Q.

Please keep posting this stuff!
Sure, we can all find it ourselves, but will we always? Many times you've grabbed an artcle that I would have missed, and I'm always deeply appreciative.

Sure, it isn't your job to keep us all updated on the scary political manueverings of George Rex's administration -- but I personally find it veryreassuring that other people are as scared as I am of what the government does (and tries to do).

Some people don't have time to look at much online other than LJ. Don't worry about it. You're just being helpful, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Definitely helping by posting, really. And I feel the same way you do about it all. I actually laughed when I heard that there's a terrorist attack planned around the election--I'm not really sure it's true or just a scam to try to stay president. I'm leaning toward the latter.

I'm scared too.

Thats EXACTLY what i said...

The senate just confirmed the nomination of a man who suggested that a woman be subservient and flat out stated that rapes result in pregnancy "less often than snowfall in Miami."

AND HE IS NOW A DISTRICT COURT JUDGE.

Oh Kellinator, you are doing a great service and hopefully pissing people off enough to go vote this November. That is if there is an election.

On a John Munch side note...don't be shocked by an "October Surprise". Either in the cancelling of the election due to some made up terror threat or if they conveniently find Osama bin Laden.

These jackasses must be removed from office as soon as possible.

Seriously, do post it, because I was all ready to write a post that consisted of that link and "Jesshelga to Tom Ridge: Please Shut Up."

Your reaction was more mature and well-thought out. Kudos.
