Valentine's Day
It’s my first Valentine’s Day as a married woman, and when I saw the beautiful roses a student employee had gotten, I suddenly realized the difference between V-days for a girlfriend and a wife:
Girlfriend: “I hope he gets me roses. He BETTER get me roses.”
Wife: “If he spends OUR money on a bunch of overpriced flowers, I’ll kick his ass."
May you all have just the sort of day you want.

Although Mike and I kind of have an understanding about flowers, which is that I do like them and they're a nice surprise once in a while. But not worth it all of the time.

"No, that *insert random present here* is a great thought, and I really do want it, but it just costs too much. A single red rose, and a heart shaped box of chocolates will be perfect"
And he actually followed directions.
I"m so proud!

Tim came home last night with one of the Kroger bouquets. I fussed at him about it, he shouldn't have spent money on flowers! He said, "well if I'd ordered them online and spent $70-80 bucks versus the $10 I did spend you would have kicked my ass!" I said, "You know it." LOL.

For my VD, I cooked Greek-style lemon chicken, rice pilaf and cheesy broccoli for Pooky, then a bit later on I made a batch of Snickerdoodles, a cuppa tea for him, a mixing-bowl fulla cafe-latte for me, and we watched a Mickey Rooney / Judy Garland movie.
Bein' married is fun, ain't it! :) <3

But we went out on our first post-baby date tonight. Sushi and a movie. twas nice.
He gives me chocolates and flowers occasionally anyway. I got no complaints about it but if I thought he spent more than $10 on flowers, yeah, I'd kick his ass.
