Say it with me...

I'VE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING PLANE!!!

I've been going back and forth for eons between my love of the cheese and my terror of snakes, which keeps me from watching stuff as innocuous as Crocodile Hunter (if Crocodile Hunter is not actually innocuous, don't blame me, I don't know because I don't watch the stuff). But yesterday [livejournal.com profile] ariedana sent me Samuel L. Jackson's most excellent Daily Show interview, and I decided that I love Samuel L. Motherfucking Jackson more than I fear the snakes. One co-worker suggested I write him a fan letter to tell him that. Another envisioned the commentary track on the DVD as performed by the snakes: "We thought this movie was our chance to shine as snakes... but it went terribly wrong!" I personally hope the DVD has that... plus a director's cut where all the snakes are replaced by Kaa from the Jungle Book.

Anyway, it's going to be the best movie ever. Samuel L. called and told me himself. Also, according to Wikipedia, he announced it to the world:

On June 3, 2006, Samuel L. Jackson said, while presenting the award for best movie at the MTV Movie Awards, "I'm here tonight to present the award everyone's been waiting for: best movie. Now, this award holds a special place in my heart because next year I'll be winning it for Snakes on a Plane. Now I know, I know that sounds cocky, but I don't give a damn. I am guaranteeing that Snakes on a Plane will win best movie next year. Does not matter what else is coming out. The New James Bond... no snakes in that! Ocean's 13... where my snakes at? Shrek the Third... green, but not a snake. No movie shall triumph over Snakes on a Plane. Unless I happen to feel like making a movie called Mo' Motha-fuckin' Snakes on Mo' Motha-fuckin' Planes."

So yes. I'm sneaking the booze into the theater. James is looking for rubber snakes at the dollar store as we speak. I'm reserving my right to cower on his shoulder.

...Come and get us, you motherfucking snakes!!

Saw the movie last night. it's a riot!

It was horribly AWSOME. You MUST go and enjoy. The snakes are all over the top CGI so it shouldn't be too bad.

That was part of it... after seeing a trailer last weekend, I said to James, "Those snakes look pretty fake, I might be able to do it."

You know what I totally want to see on the DVD though? A director's cut where all the snakes are replaced by Kaa from the Jungle Book.

I'm with ya. I. Hate. Snakes. I have very vivid childhood recollections of my mother with a hoe chopping any snake she saw in the yard into tiny, bloody pieces.

Of course, having watched the Crocodile Hunter and gotten my tolerance (and knowledge about them) up a bit, I don't *deliberately* swerve to run over the things with my car anymore, but that's about as far as I've progressed.

There's NO WAY I'll see this in a theater. [livejournal.com profile] trillian42 is right there with me (I'm afraid of snakes, she's afraid of planes. We're a good team.) The only way that I'll be able to watch that movie is with a lot of chemical assistance. I know I'm a wuss.

Oh, you're saying that like you don't know I'm going to be drunk off my ass. :P

I want to employ my magic teleporter and child-stasis unit to make Kiddo immobile long enough for the Dragon Ladies to see SNAKES ON A MOTHERFUCKING PLANE! I wanna SEE it! And see it with YOU GUYS! (And cover Dana's eyes with a RUBBER SNAKE!)

The theater I saw it at has beer at the concession stand.

I am so scared of snakes - I don't know if I can handle it.

Good luck if you do go!

It's not. Playing. At the drive-in.

So incredibly wrong.

Yeah! Snakes on a motherfuckin' PLANE!!! We were supposed to go tonight, but I am so tired. We're going tomorrow afternoon instead.

I mentioned it during lunch, and the journalism teacher laughed. She said they'd just been talking about it in 3rd period, and she said "who would go see that?" Now she knows--me!

[identity profile] piratejenny.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I so can't wait! The podling's been taunting me with Entertainment Weekly updates--they've been putting something about this in the magazine virtually ever issue since I don't know when. We're going tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and though I no longer have the links, there's some great stuff on YouTube.

I think brown-bagging in booze should DEFINATELY enhance the experience, though as your friend and as a concerned citizen, I highly UNrecommend the rubber snakes. You might start a riot! LOL

So..I got a BRILLAINT idea for a sequal.

Samuel M.F. Jackson goes to dine at Chunky Chunder's Pizza and suddenly finds himself in the middle of a culinary nightmare. Perhaps the health department has fallen down on the job? Or perhaps years of bad-tipping has finally crashed his karma? But who can deny the horror of ..... (dun-dun-dunnnnn) ... FLUKES ON A SPOON!

I hope it's a good show. If not,I look forward to the SNARKS ON A BLOG!

I wouldn't go see "Arachnophobia" for similar reasons. But I like snakes. I have handled them before. They're kind of neat.

WELL????
