announcement for [livejournal.com profile] ariedana

[livejournal.com profile] ariedana called me this morning to let me know she'll be out of commission for a while, due to biliary colitis (at least I think that's what she said, I'm not cogent before eight in the morning). What this means is she'll be having her gall bladder taken out soon and she's in a lot of pain. I know she would appreciate good thoughts and cheery emails and such.

Yikes! Is she in a hospital already, or at home?

I believe she's still at home for now.

oh shit!

that's what just happened to me, like, less than a month ago. I was having full gall bladder attacks, it was horrible.
now I have a nifty scar on my bellybutton and three little tiny ones on my right side
*so much love to the ariedana*

the recovery isn't that bad, the first three days after surgery suck perty fucking seriously hardcore, but it's more the deflating from having your stomach inflated for the procedure than almost anything else. After that, you'll notice that the area inside where the gall bladder was is achey and pained, but after about a week it's not so bad. After two weeks it's perty okay, and here I am, three weeks out and totally okay.
*hugs*

Thanks for the lowdown. I've been trying to figure out how long the recovery will take, since I've already missed three days with this attack. The doctor said it'd be a week, but since I work at a desk job, I'm hoping I can squeak by with three days.

BTW, I hope you don't mind if I add you. I've seen you around and like your writing a lot.
