In which our heroine is astonished and delighted
This morning I was opening the mail at work when I noticed that one of the packages (from Vanderbilt, my alma mater) was addressed specifically to me. This never happens.
I opened it to discover a card from a librarian, explaining that my help a couple of months ago had helped a student get an A on her seminar paper, and expressing thanks.
There were also gingerbread cookies (*love*) and a lovely Vanderbilt mug.
So yeah, I got the warm fuzzies. From my alma mater, even! And in unrelated news, I even got a couple of one-line "thank you" emails from students today.
It's good to be appreciated.

I have a good recipe. Will you try to make it to the next game if I promise there will be ginger cookies?

And I second sempereadem's excellent idea. The card can act as a amulet against the little basterds...
