In which our heroine is astonished and delighted

This morning I was opening the mail at work when I noticed that one of the packages (from Vanderbilt, my alma mater) was addressed specifically to me. This never happens.

I opened it to discover a card from a librarian, explaining that my help a couple of months ago had helped a student get an A on her seminar paper, and expressing thanks.

There were also gingerbread cookies (*love*) and a lovely Vanderbilt mug.

So yeah, I got the warm fuzzies. From my alma mater, even! And in unrelated news, I even got a couple of one-line "thank you" emails from students today.

It's good to be appreciated.

Wait a sec, just cause I stopped using it for a little while doesn't mean you can steal my 'in which our heroine' thinger. :)

Warm-fuzzy-producing events couldn't happen to a more deserving lady. :-)

*hugs*,

mmm...gingerbread.

I have a good recipe. Will you try to make it to the next game if I promise there will be ginger cookies?

mmm... cookies...

You might think it's silly or sentimental, but keep that card on your desk and hang the letters up around your cube...then when you feel like the bitchy law students are circling, you can remember that some do appreciate your hard work.

Ah, that's beautiful!

And I second sempereadem's excellent idea. The card can act as a amulet against the little basterds...

It sounds like a lovely appreciation!
