Okay, so I lack impulse control.

I just bought a used PS2 on eBay. Cross your fingers it's not a lemon.

Now, to figure out what else I need...

So how many of you have used DDR for workout purposes? How effective has it been for you?

[livejournal.com profile] toratigris uses hers pretty seriously...

I've used it for exercise (heh. I don't have to lose weight), and noticed that I did trim up a bit (no weight loss, just beltline shrinkage) and toned my legs nicely.

DDR with minor diet modifications is a good weightloss/exercise regimen, so I'm told.

I do know that [livejournal.com profile] chelona has lost a fair deal of both weight and size with DDR being her main exercise. And [livejournal.com profile] deza lost some on it too.

I have! It's pretty good. A 'light' workout.

[livejournal.com profile] olethros uses his and finds it good for fitness, as does his housemate [livejournal.com profile] inannjones

I have a PS2 that I bought used. It works fine.

I also have used DDR as a workout. Make sure you wear comfortable sneakers AND tape the pads down with duct tape, because they get slippery.

If I could only get on a regular schedule with it. I'm using it mainly for aerobic purposes. I feel like I get a good workout. The one I have tells you how many calories you burn (it's got a specific "workout" mode. I don't know if they all do. If so, very cool).

I have a friend who swears by it.

I don't dance. Not even for DDR. Nuh-uh.

I like it, but played mostly at the arcade because I don't have a PS.

If I had seen this earlier I would have referred you to Stepmania.com - a free port of the game for your computer - then you can buy a dance pad and a PS to USB adapter to play with the computer. Ends up cheaper than PS2 and Game and Pad..

I used it the other day for exercise. It has a workout mode you can play in and it tells you how many calories you've burned and your distance in jogging.
Plus its fun.

My roommate sort of uses it for workout, and she's got a friend who was much more serious about such a use and seems to have had good results in conjunction with diet modification and such. It's probably decent cardio.

Hi, I saw your comment in [livejournal.com profile] karlita's journal (and several other people we have in common), read your info, and was wondering if I could add you to my friends list. Thanks!

Sure thing! Welcome!
