Because we're always on the lookout for groovy new words to add to the lexicon around here!

Geeking out on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] scarcrest last night, talk turned to Brad Meltzer.

[livejournal.com profile] kellinator: Are you reading Identity Crisis?
[livejournal.com profile] scarcrest: (in hushed tones somewhere between reverence and pure unadulterated bliss) Oh fuck yes.
[livejournal.com profile] kellinator: You sound like you just had an orgasm.
[livejournal.com profile] scarcrest: Or a geekgasm at least.

My new word is chutzpocrisy.

Chutzpocrisy. C-h-u-t-z-p-o-c-r-i-s-y. Chutzphocrisy.

1. The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess with utter nervy-ness, unbelievable gall, insolence, or audacity; truly ball-sy falseness.
2. An unbelievable act or instance of such falseness.

... perhaps it's more of a fun word to say than an actual funny word...

I can think of a few instances of that floating around LJ...

Because when you think "grim and gritty murder mystery"... you think "Elongated Man."

I just wanted to say that that is the funniest thing I have read all week. :)

Which book is this? Or is it an issue within a comic series?

There's so much you can do with words just by adding the suffix of -gasm.

I've had many a high technorgasm, for example.

"I was at the taping today of Jeopardy. He lost during his 75th game and eventually won 74 games. He ended up with 2.5M. He got a standing ovation by the crowd. I asked the studio if this was supposed to be a secret but they said we could spread the news. Spread the news. The show should air around the end of October."
