This is why I don't watch the news anymore.

I was skimming this article at CNN.com about Bush going after conservative Democrats, and I was about two-thirds of the way through when I started thinking "I need a stiff drink."

the odd thing is, since Bush and Kerry are substantively not very different, I don't see why "conservative" Democrats would see him as a better choice.

It's so fucked that Bush gets to play the war card, but Kerry is just as pro-war as he is. I don't get it.
Strategically at this point it would make more sense for Kerry to come out as completely anti-war, since Bush is absorbing the pro-war vote anyway.

The thing that drives me nuts is that he's trying to do this based on hate, and people are letting him. Why do people give a fuck if gays get married? Are they that insecure?

These neo-cons can't even run on their own record so they got to go out and bash and mudsling and play dirty politics. Yet they insist that "we" are the ones who hate and aren't inclusive!!

What color is the sky in their world?

I long for the day that we get a valid candidate who ISN'T a corporate toadie... is Ralph Nader REALLY the closest we're going to get to that?? If so, I fear for us all.
