Dear Kelly, you are taking things way too seriously. Have a bagel. Love, Kelly

I'm sorry -- no wait, I take it back, I'm not sorry -- but nothing quite makes me climb the walls like seeing a comment that roughly paraphrases to "liek OMG I luv Bush!!! he's an AWESOME president and he's so cute and I'm liek going to marry him and stuff!!!!!11"

Heavenly days. If you're going to support Bush, can't you come up with a better reason than because you think he's cute? You realize this is one of the arguments anti-suffragists made for not giving women the vote, right?

It's waaaay too early in the day to need a Valium. I weep for the future.

That's still better than the "George W. Bush is such a wonderful Christian" argument you hear around here...

Since when did Christianity teach ignorance and hate?

If anything, I think Kerry lives a better Christian life than Bush does--he doesn't believe in love thy neighbor only if he is a rich Republican living in a gated community, you know?

*runs screaming*

*sigh*

It reminds me of when I was in kindergarten, I wanted Jimmy Carter to be re-elected because he had a daughter named Amy. Frankly, that logic strikes me as more valid than some of the folks you speak of...

(Incidentally, as an adult, I'm a big fan of Jimmy Carter as an example of what human beings should strive to be)

Jimmy Carter was not the greatest President, but he's an awesome ex-President.

As for Bush ... how can anyone find him "cute"? He looks like the missing link!

[identity profile] twochicsinbham.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly my point - He wasn't a particularly fabulous president, but is, imho, a fine example of a human being.

There is a reason five year olds can't vote ;-)

and I GWB is cute? I agree, that's almost even scarier than the political issues...

[identity profile] streamweaver.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well I don't love him or think he's cute, but a handjob isn't out of the question of he gets me drunk enough.

What?.... what are you all looking at?,.... what?

:)

Try to burn that image out of your mind. Go on... I dare you. Consider it my gift to you.

It's enough to make me think that literacy tests for voters weren't such a bad idea after all.

[identity profile] adamosity.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Keep in mind who would be writing them.

I'm a writer who would fail a Republican literacy test :-)

[identity profile] gaiagurl.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
republicans are literate?

[personal profile] dwivian 2004-06-29 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
of course... they have to be, to read the Constitution over and over and over and over and over and over and over and....

::thunk::

[identity profile] gaiagurl.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
they read the constitution???

you don't think you can ACCIDENTALLY craft the Patriot Act, do you?

[identity profile] astrophysicat.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
the question is, is lust a sufficient motivator to actually go to the polls?

It worked for Clinton. Twice.

[identity profile] astrophysicat.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew if I waited long enough someone would take the bait. :)

I still don't think "not ancient" equals hot, but I haven't met the man in person.

The the Snarkmeister posted this, my first thought was of all the women I heard in 1991 and 1995 talking about how hot they thought Clinton was...

And I wanted to day "but, THAT ISN'T WHAT MAKES A GOOD PRESIDENT! YOU NEED MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE!"

But, isn't that what Reagan was all about?

[identity profile] astrophysicat.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and considering that we haven't had an actually good looking president since JFK? I don't think the anti-suffragists had much to worry about.

[identity profile] vanguardian.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Anti-suffragists didn't want women to vote because they were cute?

*Puzzled for not paying attention in school*

Go to this site:

http://www.fametracker.com/

And scroll down on the right hand side of the page where is says "The Judgmental Thumbs". Read it. You'll be glad you did. :-)

I still like the "Re-Defeat Bush" bumper stickers that are popping up around DC.

The man reminds me of a mosquito. Most likely lacking in the pants area as well, if you get my drift.

If you need any further proof that this man is Alienator Maximus go to George W. Bush's campaign web page. They have a political ad titled the Many Faces of John Kerry's Democratic Party that features Adolf Hitler along side Gore, Kerry and Michael Moore. It is the most offensive thing I've ever seen. This from the party of Compassionate Conservatism and being good Christians. Feh!!!

[identity profile] chicating.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't believe anyone thinks that...that should've been one of the perversions Munch told Cassidy about on SVU, for Christ's sake.
Need brain bleach...

[identity profile] chicating.livejournal.com 2004-06-29 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Clinton is a hottie, but I voted Clinton because 1. Sometimes I agreed with him.
2. He was so much Better than The Other Guy(It's the economy, stupid.)
Nobody ever died from a blow job.

this reminds me of....

Back when Bush Sr. chose Quayle as his running mate I believe there were women who said he looked like Robert Redford and my thoughts, then and now, were a combination of SO WHAT! and EEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, that person just needs to die.
